LINCOLN FIRE STATIONS #1 AND #2
City of Lincoln
Lincoln, CA
As prime consultant, VC&A provided management services through both design and construction of two new wood- and steel-framed fire stations. The $3.9 million Fire Station No. 1 comprises 12,400 square feet with an additional 1,000-square-foot mezzanine, and has a second-story dormitory, kitchen and dayroom area. It has two double-deep apparatus bays and one single bay. The single-story, $4.5 million Fire Station No. 2 encompasses 13,300 square feet and includes administrative offices and a community room, and three double-deep apparatus bays. Each station has automatic fire protection, Plymovent venting, communication systems, and emergency generators, and each sleeps a crew of ten. VC&A’s project management services included developing a project management plan, performing a constructability review, developing the engineers’ estimate, preparing schedules, overseeing the designer, and compiling the contract terms and conditions and Special Provisions. We also managed the contractor bid/award process, assisted with procurement of owner-supplied equipment, and managed construction and performed contract administration.
